GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Coordinates, develops and administers employee training and development upon direction and input from the Human Resources Manager; coordinates the performance management program.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Researches, plans, develops, schedules and implements in-house and outsourced training and professional development programs to include, but not limited to, Training Zone, new employee orientation, leadership, and other requested training.
Coordinates and monitors employee performance appraisal program; coaches and guides managers on methods of completion and ways to improve employee performance.
Tracks and creates reports on outcomes of training; evaluates information to continually improve the training process.
Effectively communicates available training to employees and provides related information about sessions and opportunities.
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
Reviews exit interviews, makes recommendations to management for improvement and utilizes relevant information for training development.
Stays up-to-date on new training and performance evaluation methods and techniques.
Composes, prepares and distributes correspondence, reports/spreadsheets, and other relevant work product as needed or directed by management.
Recommends new, revisions of existing policies, procedures and processes.
Remains current with relevant employment laws, standards, and other government regulations; assists managers and supervisors with compliance.
Performs research, procedural and administrative studies and other special projects as assigned.
Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree with course work emphasis in Human Resources Management, or related field; supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in human resources, employee training or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Human Resources experience with a state, county or local government is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience with Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred. Experience with Prezi preferred. PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP is preferred. May require a valid driver license.
