While our team coach-facilitators promote and enhance team collaboration in a variety of organizations, our primary focus is on serving partnering teams dedicated to making military installations environmentally safe. These teams typically consist of military managers, installation representatives, service contractors, and government regulators all dedicated to identifying, investigating, and eliminating or neutralizing potentially harmful conditions.
We seek people who are inherently curious and who love to learn – especially about interpersonal dynamics, group process, and conflict management, who are disciplined enough to be able to sit through hours of detailed technical talk (and stay awake!), who are insightful enough to recognize when a coaching intervention is necessary, who are analytical enough to package and deliver effective interventions, who are confident enough to intervene when they see the need, who are self-aware enough to keep ones’ own needs and ego out of the work, and who are other-aware enough to know (or be able to learn) how to intervene constructively.
Our people are independent contractors, not employees, and are compensated on a day-rate or hourly basis depending on the assignment. For our coaches, our projects are typically part of a broader independent consulting practice.
While we do not require a specific academic major to qualify for consideration, we are most impressed by individuals who have an innate curiosity, a positive mindset, and a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will have a minimum five to seven years’ experience working with teams and possess or be able to develop the ability to recognize when a coaching intervention is needed during a meeting and formulate and constructively apply an appropriate and effective solution that is accepted and acted upon by the partnering team.
Also highly important but not required at the outset is a working knowledge of and ability to administer personality assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DiSC, Thomas-Kilmann, and the Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP). These assessments help increase team communication and effectiveness.
Our contractor compensation rates vary depending on the demonstrated abilities, credentials, and experience of the coach/facilitator. Partial financial support to develop basic credentials and certifications may be available.
