Lead, Change Management – McKesson – Alpharetta, GA

The Lead, Change Management will report to the VP, Controllership Strategy and Operations and support the enterprise Controllership organization. This role will be responsible for developing a consistent change management strategy to be utilized across improvement initiatives for the Accounting organization, delivering workshops to working teams and leadership teams, and teaching/coaching peers on the team how to implement the strategy and utilize change management methodology and tools. This role will also serve as the Change Mgmt lead on key strategic programs and will be responsible for assessing change needs, developing stakeholder management strategies and plans, developing and implementing change management tools and techniques, and driving adoption for those programs. This role is responsible for partnering directly with Program Managers within the Controllership Strategy and Operations team to enhance organizational performance by assisting them to implementing change within their own programs. This role will also act as an internal consultant leading large complex transformational change efforts across McKesson’s global Accounting organization.

Position Summary/Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Controllership Strategy and Operations team by implementing change management standards, best practices, and processes for strategic programs
  • Responsible for executing change management methodology, framework, team operations processes and ensuring team can execute according to guidelines provided; this will include development of templates, documented processes and coaching peers on the team
  • Partner with executive program leadership to create and execute detailed change management activities for strategic priorities of the Controllership organization such as change strategy, change impact, change readiness, stakeholder engagement, communication plan and training across key strategic programs for the Controllership organization
  • Work across multiple diverse teams on highly complex projects, including guiding internal stakeholders on employee experience and change management best practices and approaches
  • Develops trusted partnerships and act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfill the role of sponsor for the change required by a project or initiative
  • Implement feedback and measurement systems to perform quantitative assessments of change success and adoption, soliciting feedback from stakeholders and ensuring that behavioral changes align with objectives
  • Defines and measures success metrics and monitors change progress. Performs qualitative and quantitative assessments of change success and change adoption and develop strategies to address challenges, risks, or gaps. Identifies evolving project deliverables, including changes in project scope and potential conflicts, develops and implements plans to remove barriers and resolve issues
  • Consults and coaches project teams to incorporate agile, innovative, and adaptable change management methods to increase the success of projects and initiatives.
  • On a frequent and regular basis, create and present high-quality deliverables to senior leaders and executives
  • Ensure standard change practices are applied across the strategic initiatives and playbooks/best practices are up to date
  • Partner with the enterprise Organization Effectiveness and Change Leadership Center of Excellence to leverage and apply tools, templates, lessons learned, and best practices

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the McKesson business including financial and business processes
  • Consulting skills: able to tailor communication style to work well with stakeholders at all levels in the organization; effective at influencing, facilitating, and problem solving
  • Must have the professional presence to interact and influence senior leaders

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Change Management and business experience is required

Critical Skills:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience leading through significant change and/or enterprise transformation efforts is desired
  • Possesses deep knowledge of change management principles, practices, methodologies, and tools. Demonstrates proven experience in applying these solutions to drive sustainable business results.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business leaders to develop and execute plans, leveraging various teams across an organization is required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional presentation, facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop compelling messaging for diverse audiences and drive groups to consensus and outcomes.
  • Track record of taking initiative/being proactive, leading complex projects, working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple, changing priorities with excellent attention to detail / follow-through
  • Track record of success measuring and evaluating program effectiveness and/or tracking progress towards behavioral change
  • Proven ability to build strong and trusting relationships across multiple teams and departments

Additional Skills:

  • Previous consulting experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience in working independently and collaboratively in a team environment with a proven ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage changing priorities and meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and consulting skills – ability to assess needs, collaborate and deliver practical solutions that drive results; an excellent listener that seeks to understand multiple viewpoints
  • Ability to navigate and influence senior leaders and influence within a complex, matrixed organization
  • Displays growth, learning mindset, ready to promote new ideas and situations regularly.

Education :

4-year degree or related field or equivalent experience
