Job Purpose

The Learning & Development Associate Director will be responsible for serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders and stakeholders to enable the leader’s business goals and outcomes by accelerating the development of critical manager & leadership capabilities to drive business success through a productive and engaged workforce. Reporting to the North America Learning & Development Director, s/he will be responsible for enabling business growth and a high-performing organizational culture by managing and delivering world-class people leadership programs that attract, grow and retain a diverse, top talent leadership pipeline. S/he will continuously maintain an understanding of key business priorities and processes and partner with key stakeholders to identify performance needs and gaps. This professional will build and maintain strategic business relationships and provide expertise to an integrated learning network.

Success in this role will depend on the ability to provide strategic direction and close collaboration with Regional (North America) Leaders. Working collaboratively with senior and executive leadership to identify coaching opportunities, leadership training and development and overall employee experience opportunities. Working collaboratively with L&D and Human Resources colleagues in support of our strategic direction for ongoing expansion and creation of all continuing professional development programs including employee and leadership training. Facilitating professional development, training, and certification activities. Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in manager and leadership development; applying this knowledge to communicate changes in practice and resources to upper management. Ensuring that our programs support the business strategy, management principles, core values, and our culture.

Duties and responsibilities

Support the regional/country learning leader in strategic business planning around learning and development and to communicate the groups’ performance needs to appropriate learning teams Bring new and creative ways of learning so the region keeps innovating for the business to use learning and knowledge as an effective business tool to allow the growth of the region Align learning strategies around identified needs and gaps Collaborate with other leaders to optimize talent and learning solutions to support performance improvement within the business unit while aligning with the over-arching strategic goals driven by the region Build strong partnerships with local HRBPs to support market leaders to deliver on developmental needs Provide Performance Consultation to leaders to determine best training solutions and execution to support best options for the employees (sales, managers, GM, etc.) Design/maintain performance consulting processes to capture business needs and required capabilities; align processes to existing organization models, as necessary Advise senior and mid-level business leaders on the implications of short and long-term decisions and strategies on learning and development in their respective business areas, and how those implications will affect sustainable business results Coach business managers around “best fit” learning strategies to leverage existing and/or develop learning solutions to meet unique business requirements Implement measurement strategies that measure the impact of the leadership development program Monitor and leverage performance results and recommend learning and development improvement opportunities, as appropriate Provide program management for all operational aspects of a People Leader program including project management, resource and vendor management, program budget, event logistics, etc. Manage leadership program cohort schedules and participant-related efforts including communications, requests, and resources Oversee program data management and reporting to ensure accurate reporting and program projections to multiple levels and areas of the business Gather voice of the customer feedback and insights to refine and ensure people leader capability programs and experiences remain relevant and impactful for the business Ensure alignment of leadership development program goals, outputs, and measurement with overall talent strategy and key talent segments Embed inclusion and diversity practices into people leader capability programs to increase employee engagement and retention

Experience assessing, selecting, and managing vendor partners to deliver learning programs Experience managing and customizing leadership program participant experience Deep knowledge of people leadership best practices as well as the latest research and emerging trends regarding highly effective leaders Knowledge in a broad spectrum of learning practices, technologies, tools, and modalities including blended learning journeys, simulations, and other adult learning modalities

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required Master’s degree preferred 3+ years of people management, leadership and high potential development experience, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
